Android Central Question

I got the LG Escape 3 on my recent trip to the US, managed to unlock it then had to setup the APN manually to get internet services. To make things worse, I can't switch to 3G/4G.. called my service provider customer line for help only to get told the phone isn't a 4G phone which is absurd. I've tried switcher apps but on getting to the hidden menu, I get hit with a "this application doesn't work on this device" error message.. there's no option to switch in the default settings menu besides "disable 2G" that doesn't work as well. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Welcome to Android Central! Which carrier are you trying to use it on? It's a simple matter of searching for its network bands (do a web search for "[carrier name] network bands" and cross reference that with Mooncatt's link above. If there's no overlap for 3G or 4G, then the phone won't be able to access those networks.
