Switched from iPhone to Samsung and older photos in messages dont show up

[Android Central Question]

So I switched from my iPhone 6s to my Samsung galaxy s10 using their Smart Switch app. But I noticed that older photos in the messages app didn't seem to have transferred with Smart Switch. I can see that I've sent the photos and received them. But they just show up as grey with a picture icon in the middle. Anyone know why?

I believe picture message wont be transferred

Unless you downloaded the pictures to the iPhone, they don't get transferred - they're iMessages, not MMS.
