So I know there was one post already related to this but no solution in that thread has worked, nor has any solution posted on various websites.

I wish I could just disable LG IMS as the frame work contributes to features of my phone I simply don't use, however I cannot find the place to do so nor the IP type most websites tell me to. Like I said I have a Stylo 4 so that may be the issue.

I also doubt it has to do with any particular app as a factory reset did not fix it.

I am at my wits end so either a detailed guide for disabling it or any other fixes would be greatly appreciated.

You tried the VPN?

No, this is from my earlier post. "I just got my LG V60 working by turning on Wifi, make sure it's connected to a network, go into settings, network and internet, Wifi calling then change to Wifi preferred and Wifi calling on, then turn the Wifi connection off." This actually took care of the problem for me. So far anyway...

Ok good

Re: How to turn off pocket mode?

I took the sum card out of my LG G8 using android 10 on mint mobile which used tmobile that was having the ims problem. I put the sum in my old LG V20 I use on my duo drone. The V20 still has Android 8.0. No IMS errors. The phone dials out...i guess I'll just use this phone till this problem is fixed.

I also took my wife's SIM card out of her phone which is on totally wireless... Uses Verizon network..and put it in my G8... No IMS errors or stopping... So it is definitely tmobile problem with lg phones...but mostly tmobile

LG IMS pop ups have seemingly stopped, but still cannot dial out

Have not gotten an "LG IMS keeps stopping" pop up for about four hours so I am assuming for the time being that part of the problem is fixed. But I still can't dial out! Any suggestions? I have an Aristo 5 7588. Thanks for any help.

What worked? I'm trying all the suggestions and so far they have not worked. (Also have Stylo 4)

I just got my LG V60 working by turning on Wifi, make sure it's connected to a network, go into settings, network and internet, Wifi calling then change to Wifi preferred and Wifi calling on, then turn the Wifi connection off.

So sorry you all are going through this nightmare. Interesting that this morning at 8:30 am I went by a T-mobile store and their parking lot was jam packed full. I'm sure it is everyone with an LG phone.

[Merged you to the on going thread]

Merged you here

Phone got reset overnight. and I had to go in and clear data on the com.lge-ims-... apps again. I had to do it about SIX times, but it finally stopped the error popup - at least for now. I know it was reset (by t-mobile, i'm sure) because it was asking for the startup PIN this morning. Wife's has been ok. I do not have the option of changing the IP Version so this is all I can do.
LG Stylo 4 Android 8.1 T-mobile.

Edit:
I was able to get the IP Version changed as per this:
4. After clearing the second item, timing is crucial here. Just click the phone dialer (don't bother closing out of settings) --> Dial 277634#*#, scroll down a bit --> click IMS Setting (if you get the pop up before you get here, you won't be able to see or click on the next bit, and will have to complete step 3 again) --> click Slot - 0 --> click IP version --> click IPV4V6

Still OK on both phones. For now.

Husband is having this problem on his Lg phone through tmobile. It hasnt appeared on mine yet. Mine is an lg v60 thinq through tmobile. Following for updates.

Sorry if this is old news, but I found at least a temporary workaround - my phone has been stable and functioning with wifi calling overnight, as well as my wife's phone (both LG v30s). The following steps are an amalgam of previous posts to some degree. IMPORTANT: per a chat with T-Mobile DO NOT bother with a factory reset, it is simply a waste of time. Per T-Mobile they say LG says it will not fix this.

There is only one goal here - change from IPV6V4 to IPV4V6.

1. Turn on wifi calling (no idea if this is necessary, but it worked in our case - another poster said to set wifi calling setting to prioritize cellular over wifi - I found that unnecessary)

2. Turn off all App Notifications (you'll restore them at the end) - I got the impression the pop up is being triggered every time an app tries to reach out looking for a notification. The phone will still be checking for texts, etc. but this may (or may not, but it worked for us) limit some of the triggering criteria. Settings --> Apps --> Notifications --> Disable all

3. Clear the cache and data for com.lge.ims.rcsprovider AND the much further down LG IMS app - Settings --> Apps --> App info --> Three dots button in upper right --> Show system --> click respective item --> storage --> clear cache/data (back / back / clear the second item)

5. Go back to notifications and either select all, or use this as an opportunity to clean things up a bit.

I believe that's it. So far everything seems pretty normal, but not 100% sure.

Additional considerations:

This has worked well for us, but I haven't reset my phone, nor do I intend to unless it becomes necessary ;-).

Your menu structure may vary.

Our phones are about two or three years old, as are the sims, both running Android 9.

Mine is unlocked, wife's is probably still locked to T-Mobile.

Interestingly, my phone began having problems about ten hours before hers did.

The cellular connection at out house is terrible (which is why we NEED the wifi calling feature) - my wife's phone at one end of the house tends to connect to one local tower / my phone at the other end of the house connects to another (in fact, this whole issue feels like some infrastructure software change that is making it's way through the cellular system like a DNS library update...)

Another interesting thing I noted - in Wifi Calling settings, I see 'Error: REG99 "Unable to Connect" ' - this has to do with the 911 system being able to identify your physical address when you call, and in the case of wifi calling this is a problem. I know my E911 address is up-to-date on my T-Mobile account, but at some level this seems like it might be problematic now or in the future.

Lastly, the IMS service is related to VoLTE, so I suspect that the cellular provider - in this case T-Mobile and affiliates - simply made some progressive move forward, and left LG with it's somewhat abandoned / low-priority / poorly funded and managed phone support team scrambling to keep things afloat, and they have clearly failed. In the long run will things be properly repaired? Google LG's refrigerator line with the Linear technology (might check also for the term 'class action lawsuit'). Might also start shopping for a new phone...

Try installing No Root Firewall from playstore. Fixed wife's V30 model my v30 had not had the issue but had the firewall. Minimal apps allowed in firewall settings, you will have to figure out what you want to access your activities.

So sorry you all are going through this nightmare. Interesting that this morning at 8:30 am I went by a T-mobile store and their parking lot was jam packed full. I'm sure it is everyone with an LG phone.

Were the employees tiptoeing out of the back door?

The V30 I have has a setting called IMS Setting. This brings up a menu with VoLTE (ON/OFF) at the top. The fourth item of that menu is called IP Version. We may not have the same hidden menu. Yes. Can confirm message did not return so far and have been connected to network and WiFi for good measure for +20mins.

My IMS Setting won't open. I'm trying to remember what I did to fix this isue yesterday. I was never able to get IMS settings to open.

I repeated what I did yesterday (Clear cache & data in comlgercyprvider and cache in LG IMS (it won't allow me to clear data; that is grayed out) & it appears to be working. This isn't going to be a daily event, is it..............?

Sorry for the missing dots, the system mistakenly flagged as a link..........
