Let me first say that I am a total Android amateur. I was attempting to learn ClockWorkMod ROM Manager (Premium) so that I can upgrade to Android 4.0 later. I somehow did a factory reset. This was not a big issue as I just performed a backup (dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p17 of=/sdcard/stock-recovery.img). In my attempts to restore the stock-recovery.img, the phone got stuck in a recovery loop as follows:

E:failed to open /cache/superuser.zip (no such file or directory)
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted.
Factory reset failed
Restart factory reset
I have tried everything I can find on this subject, and cannot get out of this reset loop.
