password stuck

I cant turn my tablet off or get it to work it is stuck on the screen saver,what do I do

What device are you using and what do you mean "password stuck" and "now the whole thing has stopped?"

Without more information, it is almost impossible to try to help.

the whole thing has frozen on the screensaver and now it wont switch on at all, I will just have to send it back and get a new one

We still don't know which device you're having problems with. Sometimes you have to hold the power button down for a good 15 seconds or more to get things started.

You still haven't told us what device you're asking about. Different devices may have different ways of rebooting or accessing the recovery menu.
