Can I get some help with a Camera problem?

Camera problem

My camera lens cover was smashed. I bought a new one. Removed the old one then put the new one. Camera couldn't see anything through it so I left the camera unprotected. After a while the camera started taking photos with this dark arc taking fifth of the screen. I would like to know what's the problem and what I should change?

Welcome to AC.

Perhaps whatever damaged the lens glass also damaged the camera?
