why does sometimes it take a while for an app to start up ?

Hello,

Does anyone know why sometimes it takes a while for an app to start up ?

My LG phone is not slow. I notice that apps do startup either fast or slow sometimes. Why does that happen? It happens even after rebooting the phone as well.

Is there a way to permanently fix the slow startup problems?

It all has to do with how the app uses available RAM. If you are running lots of stuff in the background, the phone may have to work like a traffic cop to make use of available memory, which could slow down the app trying to open. Or it could be the particular app just isn't the smartest or most efficient in how it works.

You should not have to reboot your phone very often. But I would recommend clearing the cache (Settings-storage-cache) a few times a week. And every few months, or after a major software/OS update, reboot in recovery mode and clear the cache partition (you need to google the specific procedure for your phone model). Does not take long, won't lose your data.
