I am looking for an app which will allow me to group icons on my home screen.

To be clear, i am not looking for a folder. I know i can do this.

What i really need is a widget which works similarly to Windows Fences (Fences: Software from Stardock Corporation)

This will allow me to group my travel apps in one area of the home screen, social in another, but still have immediate access to them. I know i can do this 'mentally' but i'd really like the separation...

Anyone know of such a thing?

So just to clarify--you're looking for a widget that would act as a sort of "always open" folder that you could scroll around in? Because it seems to me that the traditional Android folder can handle this, except for the fact that you have to tap it to open the folder window. You're hoping to skip that initial tap?

Not sure if this fits the bill, but take a look at Multicon Widget.

I guess so, but really I'm looking for something that just acts as a background around the icons to separate them from each other...
Something exactly like fences is on a windows desktop...
