Ok Google text message problems

I was using OK google (I'm running the Google Now launcher) to send text messages from my phone while driving hands free. First time I did it, kinda cool. For some reason though when I had parked my car and looked at the message thread, everytime I would send a message "what is the message" would always be included in the beginning of everything I sent. When I tried doing this without driving to test it, it looks like google starts of with "what is the message" in blue italics but doesn't get rid of that text when you start speaking unless you physically delete it before, which defeats the purpose of being able to speak a text while driving hands free in the first place. anyone know how to fix this? Thanks!
