Can I save a "dead" galaxy note 4 in recovery?

To make a long story short I inherited a pretty messed up Galaxy note 4, so messed up that when I turn it on after the boot screen and carrier logo I only get errors saying "NFC has stopped, Phone has stopped, process com.Android.phone has stopped. So I have zero access to the phone normally. I do have access to the " recovery screen". Is there anyway to resurrect it, wether by installing a new ROM or something else, from the recovery screen via a computer or something?
