Guys, I have been uploading video to instagram for ages until yesterday. I had to format the sd card and now when trying to upload video i get this message "before recording videos check your sd card and disconnect your phone from computer"

If it helps, the thumbnails have disappeared from the camera, so when you go to look at the images just taken nothing shows up just.

I have tried un-istalling then re-installing Instagram but nothing. Should I do a factory reset?

TIA

Welcome to Android Central! I moved this from the Android Apps forum to the General Help forum, since the former is intended for developers to promote their apps.

Which phone do you have? Do you also get this error message when recording the video using the Camera app? Is the Camera app set to save files to the SD card by default?

Thanks. No only when uploading to instagram. I can record videos ok . This morning I formatted the SD card as portable and that seems to have solved the issue but Im desperately low on internal space now.

The phone is a vodofone turbo 7

If some files on the card got corrupt, it may be the reformatting of the card that helped, not necessarily the fact that you formatted it as Portable Storage. You could try reformatting as Internal Storage again. Or, as suggested above, try a different card.
