Launcher3 suddenly stopped working

All of a sudden today I'm getting messages telling me that my launcher3 has stopped working I've tried going into apps and clearing cache but it doesn't give me option of clearing cache only to clear data what would happen if I do this also will it affect my other apps such as WhatsApp

Welcome to the forums. You can load a different launcher on the device. You can go to Google Play on desktop, log in with the same Gmail account. Once there you can search for a new launcher and click install.

Also, you can try safe mode and see if the problem persists.

By the way, what phone do you have? Have you disabled any Google related app recently, such as Google Now launcher or the Google app?
