Having problems with the Bluetooth connection on my note 9 with my Chrome book

I'm trying to do the smart lock with my Chrome book and my note 9 they will pair up but they will not connect I've tried I tried much of the advice that came up when I asked random questions to Google but nothing fixes it. cleared cache, unpaired repaired the smart lock comes. The system Says that it is paired it's ready to go it when I tried to connect the 2 it says fail will not connect. MY S8+ had absolutely no problem with my Chrome book and yes I did delete that that. Thinking it may be confusing the system. Anyone help me out please
