I kept reading that the battery life for nexus 10 is 7 hrs of web browsing and 9 hrs of video. Isnt it weird that going online uses more battery than watching a video?

Browsing for several hours means lots and lots of pages -- which means pulling "tons" of rich-content info... that will tax your battery.

Web browsing uses more of your tablets internal hardware. Just the wireless radio alone probably contributes significantly to the shorter battery life. Along with all the background operations it takes to render all the different types of content on today's web pages. I'm not a developer of any kind, so maybe someone who is could elaborate.
