It is if you want stock Android not molested by carriers. I don't know why people are arguing. If you don't have need for expandable storage, don't put a card in the slot. Many people would like the option of adding more storage. Android is about options right?
I don't know about you but if i had a 64gb of internal storage, backing it all up before selling it or god forbid losing it all if the device is damaged would kind of suck since it could've been a simple matter of removing the card and putting it into your new phone.
Cloud storage is all fine and dandy, but as carriers continue to move away from unlimited data and throttling those grandfathered in, being pushed to cloud storage grows less and less desirable IMO.
Hurricane Sandy did a lot of damage out here, but another thing it did was reaffirm my detest for Google and OEMS moving away from expandable storage and forcing the cloud on us. Lot of good the cloud does when theirs no data connection. Its so simple to add an SD card and swap cards. Its just as easy as not using it if you don't want to.
I love how Google ass kissers talk like taking away expandable storage is a good thing and preach that if you want it go else where, Its Android, there are other options. What good are those options when you praise Google for taking them away? Everyone used to laugh at Apple because they had no expandable memory and no removable memory while Android did. Now those same people praise Google for taking away expandable memory and removable batteries...... Why? Because some guy at Google says SD cards are too complicated
? Like we haven't been using SD cards long before the existence of Android.... He just called us all stupid and your eatting it up......
/sorry end rant.
I just get a little irritated when people keep talking about its Android! Its about options blah blah blah as they praise Google for taking those same options away. If you don't care to use and sd card then don't put one in the slot. How does adding a slot for those that want to use it effect you in any way aside from giving you an option after you realize "ohh, maybe 8gb of storage wasnt enough after all..."
