How to disable/shrink photos for favorite contacts?

Hi all, hope I'm just being dense/noob and this is easy to do. Got a new Nexus 4 and working on tweaking it to make it efficient and the contact list in the phone app is a minor annoyance. Specifically, the size of each contact, due to the photo, is a huge waste of space since I don't use the photos (and know what my contacts look like). In fact, half of my favorites aren't even people (office numbers, conference call numbers, etc) so I'm looking for a way to change the view so that more contacts can fit on the screen - reducing or removing the photo would be great.

Currently, I get 4 favorite contacts on the screen at a time because the blank photo takes up almost a 1/4 of the screen. I'd like them to be displayed in the same way as a non-favorite contact, in a horizontal space that takes up less than 10% of the screen.
