Trusted devices - working?

I set up my Nexus 5 to trust my Fitbit Charge and my car stereo. However, the phone keeps asking for my password. I go to settings/security/ trusted devices and it shows both paired . However, tapping on my Charge gives me the message that they are not paired. I go to bluetooth settings and they show as paired. I call my phone from my land line and my Charge buzzes and shows the number. Clearly it is paired. Anyone else having this issue? I went back to swipe lock in the interim since the trusted devices feature is not working.

Anyone else having similar issues?

I have my LG G watch as a trusted device and I have no issues whatsoever.

No problems with my Moto 360 set as a trusted device.

Mine is paired with the moto 360 and works as a trusted device too. Hmm..

Maybe it's a bug when you have more than one trusted device?

I have my gear live as a trusted device and occasionally it will ask me for my pattern despite showing connected. Same thing happens with my nexus 7 with trusted places being set to home. Seems after so many minutes idle it will ask. It's kind of annoying. I may try to turn it off, unpair and repair but I feel like I already tired that.

Using a 2014 motox.
