You checked
this, or it doesn't show at all. Try different cables (even if you have a data cable for sure)/ports. Sometimes, just rebooting PC and device works. If it still doesn't show, check USB in Device Manager. If you see any explanation marks, try to update driver.
This program (NOTE: Link is for 64 bit; 32 is available) can make it easy to remove all old devices so that Windows 10 can re-install automatically. You can also access the pc from your N5 wirelessly via a file explorer like EStrong or access your N5 from your pc with Wifi File Explorer.
I have a Nexus 5 and Windows 10 and no connection issues. I also have a Nexus 9 with no connection issues.
