My battery was doing reasonably well prior to the update. Generally I got 4 SOT and 18 hours life. It seemed that SOT and phone calls battery usage were roughly equivalent.

I updated Thursday. My phone has been off charger since 2AM Friday. I am now at 20% at 36 hours with 3:20 SOT, and 1:40 phone calls. That would equate to nearly 5 SOT and over 40 hours on a charge.

Have you guys seen anything like this? It could be evidence that they got Project Volta working with the update.

It could also be evidence that you're trying to put your battery into an early grave. Charge when it gets down to 40% if possible. Trying for the longest run time is trying for the shortest lifetime. See Battery University - How to Prolong Lithium-based Batteries.

Also, Project Volta is mainly aimed at app developers using APIs that can save battery. If you're still using the old apps, no amount of new APIs will have any effect at all. They weren't written to use the APIs, so they won't be using them. (Unless, in addition to Project Volta, there's a Project Magic.)

Can't say I've noticed any significant change in battery life either way. Which is fine with me because my battery life is more than acceptable regardless.
