Root vs SuperSu

... successfully rooted my Nexus 7 Android v 4.4.2... subsequently updated to And v 4.4.4... checked 'root' status w/ Root Checker app, get '... have root access, but must install Superuser app...' I previously installed SuperSu app... when I select SU icon, now get alert that '.. no binary installed...' ... what happened? must I re-root? should I delete SU & re-install? what happens if I do nothing? tx

When you updated it overwrote your system files. After any update your gong to need to reroot.
