Why won't my Nexus 7 connect to the internet?

nexus 7 will not connect to the internet

other computers connected through westel6189 modem. signal strength is excellent and has always connected in the past.

I had the same problem after the upgrade to 5.1. No matter what I did, my Nexus would not connect, even if sitting 5 inches from the router. It drove me mad. I tried all the "fixes:" switched channels, turned it on-off, et.al. ad nauseum. Nothing worked....I was getting ready to get a new router to see if that would help and was copying each of the settings in my present router when I came across QoS (Quality of Service). I didn't know what that was.

QoS is sort of like a traffic cop. It controls the flow of network traffic. My QoS was unchecked. I checked it.

Voila.....haven't had a problem with network ever since. Try it.
