Assign new owner. Nexus 7

I have a used nexus 7.
I do not have the email account info, but do have the 4digit code to unlock the tablet. I did a facory reset, but now i cant get past the original email request for the tablet.
How do I assign a new owner?

Can I- now that it has been dumped?

Welcome to Android Central! How did you do the factory reset -- from the Settings>Backup & Reset menu? That should have removed the previous owner's Google account appropriately (I know this because I just recently did a factory reset of my 2013 Nexus 7 before I donated it). Or did you do the reset from the Recovery Menu?
