Buyers Remorse. Anyone starting to get it?

I told myself I wasn't going to get the Pixel this year because I got the Oneplus 5 8gb model about a month ago and really like it. I got caught up in the hype during the event and happen to go to the google store once the phone went on order. So excited to see it that I ordered and got a Oct 17th ship date.

A day later after the excitement died down I started to realize I just spend 1100 on a phone.

The Oneplus 5 may not be up there with the top flagships for its camera or display but their not bad either.

I may or may not cancel my order. I might even try it out and see how it is first.

Anyone else getting feeling the same because its a big investment

A very wise friend once told me if you pay too much it'll hurt today. Pay too little, and it'll hurt throughout your time with what you bought.

I felt it a little bit yesterday (because of the lack of the headphone jack really, but also because like you, I bought another phone a few days before) but ignored it. The straw that broke the camel's back is apparently finding out that Google expects for you to do the trade-in in 30 days from the day you start the trade-in, regardless if you got your new Pixel or not.

Cancelled it, time to enjoy my incoming phone instead (which has a jack).

Not really. For the Google store, you apparently get at least 7 business days to send in your trade-in after your new phone has shipped. For Project Fi, you get two weeks from the day you receive your new phone.

Either way, I imagine the limits are more attempts to light a fire under butts than they are threats of cancellation or anything else.

I can't imagine that is non-negotiable.......Worth a call to the store I think. Fortunately I'm getting mine by the 25th, or I would be on the phone with them right now......

Oneplus 5 is very solid phone. I do not think pixel 2 will be upgrade for you. Maybe camera. $1000 is a lot money!

I ordered one too :(

Project Fi ones might be different.

I'm not on that so I see that if you send outside of that time frame, your trade in value will be assessed based on current market value. No point in me bothering if I get less value that I don't even know what it will be. Also hearing that you can't get your phone back too. I would only bother if I could get the Pixel in 30 days for sure.

From what I am seeing, it isn't. There's just a catch of if you send if after 30 days, your trade-in value is whatever the current market value is.

I am in the same boat as the OP. I Have a Oneplus 5, that offers amazing fluidity with its software, steller performance and hardware.

I patiently tried non-stop for hours to place my Pix 2 XL order after the unveiling, while the play store crashed several times. Finally got my order at night. Yesterday while I was thinking about the purchase, I decided to cancel my Pixel order. Somehow I couldn't justify >$850 price tag for a phone that offered only a little more than what my Oneplus 5 is capable of. The lack of a headphone jack and no headphones included in the box, bigger bezels than other similarly priced phones (V30, Note, Essential, iphone X, etc) were other factors that helped me make that decision.

Now I am not saying that the Pixel XL is a bad phone, it is a great phone and will certainly work amazingly well for most of the people who buy it...but it just isn't for me.

I'm getting a little color choice remorse. I got black, but every one is so excited for the Panda color.

I'm kind of the same. I'm coming from a rose gold 6s Plus, though, so I kinda wanted to take a break from the color that's the new hotness.

I originally ordered a panda but the ship date was too far away so I changed it to black. I put a case on it anyway so I'll get something fun.

I knew the Panda color would be popular so I went with the black so I wouldn't go through the hassle. Come to think of it, I was going to get black anyway lol.

As far a remorse? Umm I'll admit after all the excitement, I just stared at the wall and realized I just spent over $1000 on a phone.....a phone! Lol But I have no regrets. Got to pay to play. Sure I would have preferred the phone to be cheaper but I feel this was a worthy successor to my Nexus 6. Oh and I'm going to make all those dollars count. This will be my multimedia beast.

For me, no. What is the opposite of buyer's remorse? Whatever that is, I have it! :-)

More excited than ever ..

It really would make you feel bad to spend $1000 on a 'phone' except all of these devices are so much more than phones. I am happy with that I bought it. Looking forward to getting it.
