For those that have both or have switched over, just curious how your Ultra is in comparison to the P6 or P6 pro? Camera, Display, Battery, etc...

I have the P6P and will be getting the S22U this week. But I always like hearing consumer feedback (rather than YouTubers)..... Wooo!!!!!

Man, this is such a hard comparison for me. Cameras are both excellent. Both take some really great photos. I don't really take too many pictures of moving objects so I can't comment on that part. I know everyone always says the pixel is better with pets and moving stuff. They're both really quick. I mean the Samsung phone right now feels a little bit quicker TBH.. but it's not by much. And really when I pick up the P6P it flies too. So it might be just me because I'm using the new phone more right now . The display nothing beats Samsung displays. The one thing that I love is the brightness peak and auto brightness blows the Pixel out of the water.. battery life. It's too early but I'm seeing great battery with the S22 Ultra and I've always done really good with the Pixel as well.. I miss the voice dictation from the Pixel.. and call screening.. I love the s pen. I've always been an old Note user so that's a plus.. decisions decisions well. I don't have one to make since I'm keeping both of them. Lol.. I will try to even it out so I can enjoy both of them .. I don't think I'm much help. Lmfao...

Edit.. I've never had a problem with the P6P fingerprint sensor and the Ultra is excellent. FPS ..what I wish the Pixel phone had was face unlock.. I use that a lot and it makes it so much convenient to just get into the phone without having to press the screen..gestures from the back and swipe up home are better on the Pixel ..

To me both the S22 plus and Ultra are better than the P6 pro. Fingerprint scanner is superior, face unlock, customizable AOD, Video lock screens, brighter display, and comparable security updates. I'm not knocking the P6 Pro though. The 6 pro has slightly better camera and it is cheaper. $$$

But we obviously can't decide for you.

I've had the S22U for a few days now, and while both phones have their pros and cons, IMO, the S22U is the better device by a bit of a margin.

What I think the S22U does better than the Pixel 6 Pro:

- Screen is substantially better on the S22U. On 30% brightness, it's as bright as the Pixel 6 Pro at max brightness. The screen is just spectacular and it looks like it's calibrated nicer or something. Just looks much better than the P6P screen. Google just need the exact screen Samsung use in their next phone and calibrate it exactly the same. The Pixel screen is just way too dim.

- The fingerprint scanner on the S22U is just night and day difference over the P6P. It's instantaneous, accurate and just a joy to use. I'd legitimately pay an addtional $50 if Google just used the fingerprint scanner Samsung uses.

- The phone feels snappier and smoother. One UI by default has faster animations, which makes the phone feel faster navigating around the UI. It's super slick. It has some design decisions like quick setting toggles that don't go into more menus so they're actually quick-settings. And of course it's more customisable, so that's a pro or a con depending on how you look at it.

- I'm not getting any reception issues with the S22U. I've never had great reception on the P6P, the December update almost killed it, Jan update restored it, but it's never been great. S22U just has better reception.

- Less bugs. No homescreen reloads, no bugged widgets, no random freezes, no visual glitches.

- Seem to be getting better battery life with the few days I've had it and nver had the phone heat up.

I think the Pixel has a better vibration motor and voice transcription is better, but other than that, I don't think the Pixel does anything definitively better.

I still have both, it really is camera and slightly better ergonomics for the Pixel vs. everything else for the S22U.

I am reluctant to sell on the Pixel but I know I really should, no point keeping it. My only beef with the S22U is I really wish it was just a little bit smaller and easier to handle.

I have both (for now ) and agree with everything that's already been stated by others.

There's a lot (A LOT) that the S22U does better then the 6 Pro, but I am finding out year after year as I purchase Sammy's latest and greatest that I just prefer the Pixel experience.

Here's my personal pros list for the P6P:

* I take a lot of indoor pics and the Pixel is just more reliable for me. Love the features and versatility of the Samsung camera and wish Google would add some similar features, but when it comes to trying to capture a quick moment with simple point-and-shoot, for me the Pixel wins every time.
* I do a ton of voice to text and there's just no comparison between the two! Pixel is just leaps and bounds better in that aspect.
* Samsung also appears to have disabled the ability to snooze texts in Google Messages, something I use often.
* Pixel call screening and hold for me are also things I use quite a bit.
* Battery life for me was very similar on both.
* I'm fortunate with the 6 Pro I guess as I've never had signal/connectivity issues or issues with the FPS.

If I am being honest, there are way too many pros to list for the S22U ... There's a lot of features it has I really like.

Has it been a perfect experience for me with the 6 Pro? Not even close! But I used the S22 Ultra for 6 days and then put my SIM back in my 6 Pro and there's nothing I personally find myself missing about the S22U - besides the display! (It's so bright and beautiful LOL). The Pixel 6 Pro display is no slouch, but Samsung is the display king!

In the end, only you will be able to determine which device is "better". My advice is to get it, use it and then make your own assessment based on your needs and how you use your phone ... Then you'll know which one is better for you.

I agree with your comparison..voice to text ..screen calling and holding ..are the major things I miss from the Pixel ..

S22 U screen man it's just awesome ...no comparison and like you said P6P is nice but you realize really fast how behind the S22 U it is including auto brightness ..

Customization on Samsung is ridiculous and so easy ..why can't stock Android provide it similar..they bare bones these options ...

Camera where I enjoy the S22 U is the zoom and videos but Pixel is solid experience...

Love both phones and I'd like to do that I dream of Jeannie move and mash them together

How's the battery been for you guys in comparison to the P6Pro?
Yes good battery for me ...but then again I'm still working from home ..both phones get me good usage ..only Android Auto drains it for me but with every phone Ive used ..
I couldn't agree more!!!

Um ... ahem ... you're showing your age with that TV show reference, BTW
Haha good old days ..indeed showing my age ..

Can't wait to get my S22U and compare. Hopefully FedEx doesn't steal it....

Your first bullet is the big one for me, it's is only reason the Pixel did not go straight on eBay.

When I use the Pixel though that FPS just smacks me in the face every time I use it. It is so hard, demonstrates I guess that there are flaws with all of the current droids available, really thought the Pixel 6 was going to be 'The One'

I am hoping that Google reads the room here and the Pixel 6a turns out to be slightly better than it might have been, maybe throw in a 256gb option for example.

Yeah, I really don't know why Samsung cannot get indoor pics of kids and pets.

But I just fired up the S22U this morning (using it to type this) and I now realize just how much smoother an experience it is than the 6 Pro ... scrolling just feels so much better and things just seems snapier overall. I'm trying to convince myself to return it as I don't need two phones ... but it's hard argument to have with myself LOL

Yeah I think the Pixel has a slightly better camera, especially with moving objects. But the speed/snappiness of the Galaxy, the truly amazing screen, excellent fingerprint scanner and bug free experience greatly outweigh a slightly better camera for me. I can handle a photo being an 8/10 instead of a 9/10 but I can't handle call dropouts and battery drain and fingerprint scanner not working in sunlight etc.

Problem is, I really do like the Pixel and if Google can just focus on improving quality on the phone, I'll be back on board with the Pixel 7.

I think this is a fair assessment. Pixel just seems to work and minus s pen, there is not anything I find using more in the S22U. Screen brightness S22U -yes, but the oversaturated colors have always annoyed me, even when not using vivid. Camera..I still use the vacation analogy. The Pixel would be the one I would choose if I could only take one and didn't want to chance getting a solid photo.

I completely understand ... If I'd been having significant issues I don't think the slight margin between the cameras would be enough to sway me to stay.
I've been fortunate where the issues/bugs I've faced with the 6 Pro aren't what I'd consider critical. I'd expect no bugs at all from a company of Google's caliber, but I honestly went into the Pixel 6 Pro expecting some due to this being their first go 'round with in house chips. Still not a valid excuse because, again, a company of this caliber should have a top notch product QC but one had to expect some growing pains.
