Google messages different on pixel than Samsung

So I have a pixel 7 pro and my girlfriend has the flip 4. When we text through Google messages and use the reactions feature she can use any emoji in her keyboard. The pixel only allows like 5 or 6 with no way to add more. Am I missing something?

It's weird but same on my Flip 4 I can even react to iPhone users but Pixel 7 pro nope lol

Thanks, I have the same app version. I'm not on OS beta, so maybe that's why I don't I have the reactions feature, but I and others have It on other (not P7) devices that aren't running beta, so curious why that should matter on this phone, specifically.
