Pixel XL Cannot Stay On and Other Issues

My Pixel Xl dropped a couple of calls at random and I didn't think much about it. However, later that day, it stopped auto-rotating 180 (90 degrees was fine). Then it shut down unexpectedly when the screen froze. When it started up, it could not get past the "Google" screen and kept lighting up and off. I installed adb and fastboot and had success getting the phone to boot up. However, that was shortlived because after about five minutes, the screen froze and it rebooted. It has since decided to go loopy again and I am not sure if there is anything else I can do other than throw it across the room. One other note is that when it was cycling off and on, the "Google" screen sometimes had horizontal squiggly lines across the screen which makes me think it might be a hardware issue. Given the phone is old, I'm probably SOL. Anyone have a suggestion that might help?

Have you tried reflashing the firmware? https://developers.google.com/android/images#marlin and scroll down to the October 2019 file. (Open the .bat or .sh file and delete the "-w" in the last fastboot line first, so it doesn't wipe your apps, data, etc.) You might also want to install TWRP (https://twrp.me/google/googlepixelxl.html) while you're in there. (And Magisk if you want root - just flash it with TWRP, then install the Magisk app - both at https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/releases/)
