Because my fingerprints cannot be read. Not on my iPhone, my galaxy s6 and now my HTC 10. Had a swipe unlock set, but kept opening in my pocket so sceptically I try the FP reader and yet again it will not read it. I get the blurry, smudged cannot be read, are you human error. My fingers are clean. Oh well. Guess it's a number code again then.

I like the idea that fingerprints have made more people put a lockscreen on their device. But for me, I am not a fan. I have a lock bypass when I am connected to my home wifi, and that's good enough for me.

I wanted to use my thumb, using a 4 digit code, works fine this way. I'd not lock it at all if not for pocket unlock issue.

Having looked at fingerprints for 30 years, I would be interested in seeing your fingerprints to see what is going on.
