USB host with dongle?

I know that later versions of Honeycomb offered this natively, but can anyone confirm that the Evo 4G LTE / ICS will support USB host functions with a MicroUSB to female USB dongle?

I just tested this today and it doesn't work at all. I took the adapter, plugged it into my Xoom and I was able to use a mouse and keyboard (HID). When I plugged in a flash drive, the light comes on, but I wasn't able to access it in any way or find a mount option.

When I plug the adapter into the Evo LTE, it does not work with anything, mice, keyboards, flash drives... doesn't even supply power to the flash drive. So I am thinking HTC didn't bother to enable this at all.
