Does the Evo use a Micro USB charger?

I want to go ahead and buy a car charger for my phone. I was make sure that this will work. I know this same charger is like $20 + at the sprint store.

Yep, that will work. That's the same charger I am currently using on my Pre, excellent charger at 850 mA. With a lesser charger, you couldn't run Sprint Navigation without losing power, but with this one, Sprint Navi could be running all day long and the Pre was still getting charged.

First I would check Radio Shack for a Clearance Pre Charger. I bought one for 9.97 That I plan to use with my Evo.

To clarify, I have used many Sprint branded charges and have had horrible results with them....

Also you can use almost any USB cable with it to charge other devices and for longer lengths if needed:

I had the Palm charger which was rated a 1A, but I had nothing but bad luck with mine. First off, it was an extremely tight fit in both of my cars, when I tried to remove it from the cigarette lighter, I almost pulled my whole center console out! Also, that particular charger only worked once in a while, most of the time it would not charge at all, although the Pre was indicating that it was plugged in. I returned it and ordered the Sprint charger instead and have had no issues whatsoever.

same experience with the Pre car charger in my Lexus. it was a disaster.

That's weird, my Sprint charger has been and still is fine for a year now, the only thing that crapped out is the yellow light. But I mean really, how hard is it to make a functioning car charger, it's hard to believe that people had so many problems with both.

The ebay listing says micro, but the picture is hard to tell...kinda looks like mini to me. Micro is the one that looks like this and it is definitely what the Evo uses (I have one here and I'm looking at it as we speak):

That is actually a Micro USB. Most people confuse the two smaller USB ends and call the Mini a Micro. The Micro is the smaller of the two. Most HTC other phones use the Mini USB end.

So... Does the Evo use the same cable as the Pre or not? Cause I have 3 extra cables for my Pre and was about to give them away, but if I can use my Evo with them, then perhaps not.

Sorry, jam, you are incorrect. I have an Evo and it definitely uses the one in the picture I posted. It's the flatter, smaller USB connector...the micro.

My HTC Hero, however, uses the bigger, taller one...the mini.

No clue about the Pre.
