Why is my touch sensor hyperactive after the KitKat update?

Touch sensor hyperactive

So for the past few weeks, my HTC One will randomly start glitching on the touch sensor and will randomly change screens, open apps, type random messages and become totally unresponsive to my control.
Only started doing this once i installed Kit Kat, just wanting to know if anyone has had this issue? or any clue in a solution to fix, before i end up throwing the phone out the window lol

Welcome to Android Central! Do you have the M7 or M8? Try booting into Recovery and wiping the cache partition, which won't erase any personal data:
