Issue: Half of the black soft keys background is always showing

Hi!
I wasn't sure how to describe the problem in the title, but the problem is since I closed the camera app half of the black soft keys background is always showing on the home screen and the lock screen.
Like this:


I have tried to turn on and off the phone and so on. I know I can try a factory reset, but I was hoping there is another solution.

did you reboot the phone with fastboot disabled?
also you can try force stopping the system ui in the settings.
then try clearing system cache.
that's what I can think of before factory resetting.
