How to select all Emails in 4.4 in native mail client??

I have recently bought device with 4.4 installed. And to my surprise in native email app there were no possibility to select all emails (e.g. I added email account which had 100+ emails and I had to select each manually to mark read all), why it was removed??
The same goes for Gmail app.

I really wish there was an easy way to select all and mark all read.

Hi Alexx,

The stock e-mail app varies from phone to phone, but in general, there is a check box that allows you to select a block of e-mails, depending on your sorting options. If you selected to sort by date, the check box will allow you to select a bunch of e-mails for a particular date. Granted, is not the 'Select All' solution you need, but it's a lot easier than going one by one. And if they're older than a week, chances are they're already grouped together anyway.

As for the GMail app, honestly, I can't remember if it ever did have that 'Select All' option. I know it's there in the Desktop version (browser), but I can't recall if it ever was in the app.
