Bluetooth "static"

I am having issues with getting "static" while listening to audio over bluetooth connections. The audio basically will have short pauses of varying length. I have unpaired and repaired my HBS-900 headsphones but it doesn't seem to help. I have noticed some physical locations, like work, have more issues so I wonder if it's some other type of electronic interference.

I will also add that I have had similar problems when I use both my Bluetooth headset and Bluetooth heart rate monitor simultaneously. I suspect it is the fault of the monitoring app (Wahoo Fitness) but not sure.
