Re: galaxy s5 powers down and pulse/vibe only will not transmit through my mhl/hdmi adapter I had the exact same problems. Tmobile had to send me a new phone with 5.0 on it. They aren't admitting that 5.1.1 has messed up phones but they very quickly offered a new new phone which is very rare...
