I don't think this is a MotoX problem, sounds like more of a software problem. Are you using the default mail app or a third party one?

Re: Galaxy S6 dispaly and battery The best way to save battery on your screen is to use dark colored themes/icons and black wallpapers. The AMOLED screen doesn't light up black pixels, so anything that is black or dark is basically the screen turned off in that area (if that makes sense).

Restore would be my next step. If that doesn't work I'd contact Samsung (or the place you purchased the phone if you have some type of insurance/warranty coverage).

If you are referring to the apps on your phone, its a setting in play store. Click the dashed lines on the left end of the search bar on Google play store and then scroll to the bottom and open settings. Then choose the very first option called auto update apps and change it to update anytime...

What text app are you using? I would highly recommend textra, or Google messenger. If you use textra set your MMS settings to 1mb and system. Should solve your problem I had the same issue with my S7 when I first got it. Posted via the Android Central App

Go to the galaxy apps app and download Samsung's "good lock" program. It'll replace the lock screen and the notification shade with a newer (and in my opinion better) interface. Hopefully in the process it will solve your problem. Posted via the Android Central App
