    Not sure how to delete the thread. I posted too quickly. A quick search seems to show that this happens because of no sim card being in. Right now I am testing the phone on Wifi so that explains it.

    I have brightness set to 35, if I power off my phone and power it back on, for a few seconds it's fine and then it just randomly shoots up to 100 percent.

    On my HTC 10 I would set my brightness level and then if I was outside I would use auto brightness, when I turned auto brightness off it would return to the level I had previously set.
