How to access folders created in internal storage?

This is weird.
I tend to save internet files and store in google drive.
This time I stored internet files in pdf format and saved in a new folder in the internal storage.
Now, when I access setting and click on storage, it shows the folder with memory used.
But, I can't access the files in storage.
I am unable to find the icon to access internal storage.
The files are not in downloads or gallery.
Any help.

install a file manager like ES Explorer, then you can access your files. there is plenty of functionality within the app.

You can access your PDF documents via your PDF reader app as well.

So far so good. I downloaded the ES File Explorer.

Now, how can I copy the files to my PC? That's the rub. I could do it on a previous device without any special considerations (Acer Liquid Z3, it's file system were much more open to the PC).

Additional question: I have books on Audiobooks.com, I could, again, easily copy the Audiobooks directory it created to the PC from the Acer Liquid Z3, but I simply couldn't locate the directory it created if any on the Moto G. Any tips? Worst case, create an account and get a free audiobook.
