I have a moto x and it was recently refurbished as I broke my old one. I'm running android 4.4.2 and haven't been able to receive actual emoticons and get the text version like ?=?

Is anybody else having this issue? I'm not sure what to do.

    Check you add on Dictionaries:

Settings > Language Input > Keyboard Settings > Make sure the Emoji Dictionary is installed

I do have the "emoji for English words" dictionary installed. Would there be anything else I would need to install?
