My moto x 2014 wont let me change from pattern unlock to swipe again.

I switched it from swipe to pattern unlock earlier and now it wont let me select the regular swipe (no security) option. It is there but blocked out as an option. I read some other posts saying to reset the settings but i dont know how to do that. Another suggestion stated something about whether or not the phone was encrypted? I don't think mine is. Please help!

Have you already tried clearing credentials in your security settings?
