Word prediction with the Droid 2 - Sucks

Has anyone noticed the word prediction with the Droid 2 is kinda ****ty? For instance, you want to type the word 'lately' with either the touch screen or hardware keyboard and only type out 'latel'. When you hit the space bar it doesn't predict the word you want after 'latel' it just puts what you have. Very few come out correctly but it mostly never picks the appropriate word or even the word the phone thinks it is. My Incredible did an amazing job at choosing the correct words even if they were butchered... Maybe I have a setting that's wrong??

I don't know why anybody uses word prediction. Much bigger fan of word suggestion so I leave that on. My Moto Rokr E8 used to learn my habits and mostly guessed correctly, it would highlight it's prediction so you could easily replace it if it was wrong by continuing typing, it worked excellently. But most phones have terrible, intrusive and obnoxious word prediction that prevents you from actually typing.

Word prediction has always been bad. Actually, the only device that I have seen use word prediction directly is a blackberry.
