Droid R2 D2 - disable start up sound

I just got a new Droid R2 D2 phone. Coming from a BlackBerry, this is an amazing phone, and as an added plus, its R2D2! My only problem is that I work in a quiet office, and the R2 sounds on start up seem to echo through my office! Is there any way to turn them off? I searched the forums and tried some of the suggestions there, but I cant find anything that works. Ive turn the SD card notifications off, changed the notification sound (which didnt affect the start up sound being played), and kept the phone on silent, and nothing worked. Any ideas? :-\

These instructions are for the Droid Pro, but will work just as well for the D2.

I really dont want to root a phone that is 2 days old if I can help it. It blows my mind that a phone so capable lacks such a basic feature. If I decide to keep this phone, I will try rooting it. I just shouldnt have to do that to turn this one sound off...

Anyway, thanks for the suggestion, and Ive bookmarked it for future reference
