Unlocking a D2g

Has anyone gone through Verizon to unlock a D2G or have they done it on their own. I was looking at getting a global device, but they just told me that your required to be out of contract or pay full price for the phone for them to unlock it.

Just trying to weigh out my options. I would like to have a phone for use overseas that is an android phone and something I am used to using.

I unlocked my D2G with a code from Verizon, but I am out of contract. I unlocked my Storm 2 while on contract. As long as you've been paid up for 60 days, Verizon will give you the unlock code. Call or e-mail Global Services.
