Ringtone keeps switching to "unknown ringtone"....why?

I have an app called RCP Business Ringtones. It's worked wonderfully on all of my previous Androids. I just got the new Droid Turbo. Now, at random times and for reasons I haven't yet been able to pinpoint, the ringtone changes itself from what I've set (an RCP tone) to "unknown tone".

One thing that has been suggested is to move the desired ringtone to media>ringtones....problem is, the files are ALREADY located there.

Any ideas?

Have you tried using the ringtone without the app? And I assume it's an mp3 file?

What do you mean "without the app"? I downloaded the tones I wanted, using the app, but set the tones via my phone, under Settings.
And no, they are .ogg files, not mp3s.

Okay, I thought you were using an app to use the ring tones. Can you convert them to mp3?

Im having the same issue
And i have the ringtones all in mp3
It still does the unknown ring thing
