Just updated my Google Maps and low and behold... PINCH ZOOM!

Wow it's quite a different Droid experience to see pinch zoom work as smoothly as on an iPhone. I wish Dolphin could pinch zoom as smoothly.

We should probably expect to see more and more updates like this in the coming days, think about it;

N1 gets a native MT update (as well as making it's 3G actually WORK), and then a few days later our apps get MT!

The update is simply to the Maps application, not the OS itself.

It should be right there in the Market. That's where mine was!

Goto Market, Settings, Downloads.... Look for Google Maps. You should have an update there.

I think this is Google's way of telling us that VERIZON is preventing the full MT, not them.

Google can't give us Gallery/Browser apps with MT because they are pre-installed on the phone--

Googlemaps was pre-installed on my phone purchased 2-3 weeks ago running 2.0.1. Pretty sure thats not the case.

I'm good (for now). We have Dolphin/xScope, The ported gallery and now the Google Maps.
WIth 2.1 it may just keep me happy for the next few months.
