New Radio in May Security update

I just got the May security update and noticed it included a new radio. Has anyone noticed improved signal with it? I am hoping it improves things at least a little as in my experience with it on T-Mobile my 5X has a harder time pulling in LTE compared to my Nexus 7 which is also on T-Mobile. At least in my experience there have been a countless number of times where my 5X is on H+ while my Nexus 7 is on LTE or even worse where my Nexus 7 is on LTE and there is no working data on my 5X.

Hi, my 5x is getting lte service at work which my other phones use to get 4g or h+ and im on t-mobile . I dont know how you check if you get new radio with an update?

On the 6P forum, one person is claiming he is not always getting LTE, where prior to the update he was frequently dropping down to HSPA+. So at least one person seems to be seeing improvement with the May update, though not on a 5X.

If I may ask, what build number did you get, and how do you know for sure that it's a newer radio?
