Wow, that's some pretty awesome stuff! Thanks for sharing @krazyatom 😃 Some people only dream of having battery life like that haha.

Does seem a little hard to believe since there is still 39% left but if this is a honest untouched image, I give the OnePlus 5 and massive thumbs up.

What is your secret? My battery life was average at best. I would lose 2-3% per hour overnight. Since the last update on Sunday it has been better

Just got another software update now let's see how it goes.

Well I do have low brightness. I usually set my brightness to 25% but OP5 was bright enough for me at 15%. Also, I did turn off the scanning always available off. Not sure it helped lol. I really don't watch videos or play games so that may be the reason why. My screen inactivity is set to 5 mins.

Hey Krazy, I see you over at Crackberry and the KeyOne battery life is insane, how does the OP 5 compare?

I probably need more time to compare vs keyone but OnePlus battery life is very good. I doubt it will be better than Snapdragon 625 but so far it's fairly close for my usage. I mostly text, reading forum app, so it will really vary by the users. I think I can go 9hrs SOT with OnePlus 5. My S7 gives me like 5-6 hours SOT. Keyone probably gave me like 10 SOT. I don't have keyone anymore though.

What is battery life like when idle/on standby?

My S8 will drain at a steady 2% per hour even when sat on my desk doing nothing, whereas my iPhone 7+ would sit for ages on 100% if I left it, likewise the LG G6 is also pretty good in this regard.

How is the OP5? Does the vanilla android bear some fruit in this area?

Can you take a screen shot of your usage? I didn't use my phone a lot today so I don't have any info yet.

I am finding mine just ok tbh, not done any scientific tests but anecdotally I'd say maybe slightly better than my package disabler pro'd S8 but not significantly so, I have always used the AOD on the S8 too.

The LG G6 remains the strongest android phone for battery, at least in my experience.

Nice. What's your screen on time? I don't use Wifi at work. Can you check your power consumption for wifi?

Best screen on time I've ever had on any device, and my WiFi has been on constantly and is responsible for 4% of my battery usage, or a mere 118 mAh of computed use.

    Hope it's useful!

Nice. OP5 battery is just superb IMO. I really like 1080p for battery saving.

They could of done way more to optimize battery. Im getting just as good if not better battery on my u11 which has only a 3000mah and a QHD screen. This is just an example of the u11 battery from this mornings usage. Almost 2 hours SOT and only used 17% while on LTE and streaming ESPN since I got to work. On pace for 8 Hours SOT. *EDIT This is also with auto brightness not like the poster above who set his OP5 at 15-25% for maximum battery. If I did that I would get 10 hours easy.

Congrats on your battery life on your HTC phone -- Maybe head over the HTC area to talk about it? I see this post is about the OnePlus 5 life and for users to share / talk about their life on that phone. Posting "look at my HTC battery life" in a thread to talk specifically about how the OnePlus performs so users can either just show their data or troubleshoot isn't helpful.

    Thanks .

My post was merely a response to the OP5 having great battery with a post showing it should have even better battery if optimized better. Considering it has 1080p and 300 more mah battery it shouldn't even be close. Just my opinion.

I don't see much wrong with the OP5 battery, honestly.

Considering that it has a 300mAh advantage and an OLED panel, that's not bad.

Could it be better? Absolutely, though users don't seem to be complaining.

Not saying its bad by any means, just saying it should not be going toe to toe with the u11 which has a smaller battery and QHD screen. If the OP5 were as optimized as the u11 it would be easily pulling in ridiculous SOT numbers
