A big problem (for some people at least, not me.) With the Gingerbread ROMs for our phone is the activate APK could never be used, as it was only meant for froyo. Now that the slider has been released with gingerbread, could the APK be pulled from that and work on CM7? Like I said before, I don't need it, but it might be helpful for others.

I hate to say it but no. Because it needs other things in the framework to work. It could be made to work with a lot of smali and skills

I still don't get the activate thing.. when I first got the phone (and it was still stock 2.2.2) I set it up over the internet and about 3 hours later it just started working.

The next day (after I had verified everything was working) I ran the activate app for the first time just for the heck of it and it just timed out and gave me an error.

I guess I don't understand why it's so necessary. . .

Android phone shave been known to lose their provisioning, that is one way to fix it.
