my pc does not recognise my samsung galaxy mega android phone by using the usb cable

my software is windows and my pc does not recognise my android Samsung galaxy mega 5.8 phone when using my Samsung galaxy usb cable so I cannot make any transfer from my pc to my phone by using the usb cable but other usb devices such as pen drives, digital Walkman is working properly on my pc so what can I do in that case

Also try different USB cables, or a different USB port.
