Always been the biggest Note fan since the Note 2. Have been on Samsung since the original Galaxy S. Was even one of those that tried to keep the Note 7 as long as possible.

Looks like I'm not getting a Note. This unveiling made me remember why I went for the Note line....that I care more about the specs of a phone than the looks and aesthetics.

The note always stood out from other android phones when it came to screen size, specs, spen, functionality etc.

Now they are all catching up and the difference even within the Samsung phone line is minuscule. Just the s pen stands out as the obvious difference.

So this year.... I cant believe I'm doing this... I'm switching to another android phone.

I'm going for the ROG phone 2 and keeping my Note 9.

ROG is clearly a spec beast with 120hz display, Snapdragon 855+, 6000 milli-amp battery, super loud front facing stereo speakers, amoled screen, side facing usb port, in package cooling fan system, almost pure android os etc.

Yes, I use the s-pen but I'll keep my note 9 as a second phone.

So yeah....

Thoughts?

Why do you think you have to leave the note phone. You have the note 9, a perfectly good working phone that is still considered an advanced phone. The note 10 series doesn't impress you, that's fine, you can just keep the note 9 for another year and see what the note 11 brings to the table. It's not like you have a 3 year old phone that's junk.

Yeah... I'm a bit of a phone junkie... NOT a good habit. If the ROG phone 2 didnt come out, I would have stayed and not gone to any android phone. But the specs on the ROG phone caught my eye.

What he said

I was more interested to see how others feel. I was kind of hoping that more people thought like this and that maybe by the power of the consumer spending, the Note line would go back to standing out. Wishful thinking that Samsung cares... but hey ho.

Asus is having motherboard issues in the Zenfone 6. I would wait before buying the ROG ll and make sure it’s all sorted out.

Enjoy getting barely getting any updates. Their Zenfone 5 just got Android P yesterday. lol

Ehh.
You have a note 9.

The ROG phone is like comparing apples and oranges. They're geared toward different people. I still think gaming phones are more of an experiment at this stage, and the ROG is even taller than the Note 10+. It does have some cool accessories that go along with it though, and if you're a big gamer I can see the allure. My question is why do most companies make gaming focused products so ugly?!?!

Progress happens and on the Note10+ it is all good progress. I thought about the Fold, but without the stylus it is a no deal. Spen for life! (I used to say that about my Apple Newton PDA until Jobs killed it, dirty bugger.)

I hope you find a phone you love! :)

Thanks. I will definitely keep my note 9 as long as possible. I wonder if some of the note 10 features will trickle down to the note 9... like the editing suite
