Bye bye Samsung...?

Personally, I could care less what the AC Google lovers say about Samsung phones. I am not a phone junkie. I change phones no more than every 2 years. My phone is a business device. I use it to help me run a multi million software division. I use my phone a lot on planes doing PowerPoint and Word. My Note 8 is great for O365, SP, Teams and Skype for Business. Plus many other business apps. My idea of gaming is solitaire.

I like the Note 10+. The only area I wish Samsung did a little more on was the camera. That said I am happy with the Note 8 camera. So the Note 10 camera will meet my needs. I do wish Samsung would ditch the curved screen. I use the SPen all the time taking notes.

I am very excited to get the Note 10 plus.

Good for you! I am also excited for the Note10+

the camera is the most exciting part, samsung got the software right with the note 10 cameras!

Don't believe the hype of the ROG Phone 2. Even with it being a spec beast, the OnePlus 7 Pro is still faster. The only thing it has going for it are the accessories.

Benchmark tests can be cheated, and who actually does nothing but swap between apps (like that video shows)? What matters to gamers more is fast, smooth frame rates in game. I'd also be curious if the ROG 2 was running full tilt, considering the ability to adjust clock speeds.

But let's say the O+7 pro was faster, there's more going for the ROG 2 than accessories. It has bezels for better grip, front firing stereo speakers, flat screen (did you notice that abhorrent glare on the edges of the O+7?), headphone jack, better cooling, larger battery, and just looks better.

Exactly! This is what I’m talking about. The early Notes were about big screens, but ever since the Note 7/8 the Note series has been about performance, the S Pen and multitasking abilities perfectly suited for business. Add in Samsung Dex (something a lot of people forget about) and the Note can connect to several other devices via USB just like a laptop or PC. Eshropshire is a good example of the Galaxy Note’s target audience and market.

Again, the Galaxy S series is Samsung’s ‘everything phone’ for ordinary consumers. The Note is more niche, targeting businessmen/businesswomen and power-users who demand future-proof performance and multitasking prowess.

I don't see as big a distinction between the Note and the Series at this point especially performance.

It’s not that big a distinction as it used to be. For non-US models you’re getting the slightly better Exynos 9825 as to the 9820. As for multitasking though the S Pen and Dex are useful.

Not sure if you’ve noticed but for the past few years most of the innovation and big progress has been happening in the Galaxy S line, not the Note. That makes sense for Samsung because most people buy the Galaxy S phones, not the Note. So if every year there is big progress in the Galaxy S line it will be more successful, while the Note line is more niche.

I can tell the Note ia a niche phone because Walmart never sells cases for the Note series, only the S series. I think I found one for the N5, but that was it.
I look occasionally to see if there's a new design or fun case.

Yes, the Note has become the S10+ with an S-Pen.
With a vastly better camera (according to reviews), better battery life, faster fingerprint reader, much faster processor (at least the exynos version) and the 5G model is cheaper than the S10+ 5G. Apart from that you're right :-)

It's not "slightly" better - the jump to 7nm leads to a massive performance gain. You guys have no clue how slow the 9820 could be on the S10 because you were spoiled by the Qualcomm that already was 7nm

Both the S10 and the Note 10 are niche phones here tbh

IDK about the US (I read something around 80% of US adults and children who have phones use iPhones)...but in Europe and the rest of the world the Galaxy S is a long way from niche.

I live in Switzerland - Apple has a very firm grip on the cell phone market here. I’m a teacher - from the phones I see on a daily basis, I’d say no more than one in 25 is not an iPhone. And of the rest, most are Huawei.

Samsung is very much present in advertising, but from what I can tell, they’re not overly successful. Of course I only teach 16-22 year-olds, so I can’t really make any kind of informed guess about people above that age range. I’d say it’s more there, but how significantly more is hard to tell.

iPhones here are expensive, but less so than in the EU. VAT is only 7.8% here and the Swiss Franc is a very strong currency.

Unfortunately, not enough to make me consider spending money on.

What made me sell my S10+ 5G for the Note 10+ 5G was that the latter is dual-SIM in my region. Plus the faster processor, better camera etc are definitely a plus too.

This guy who used to post on every Samsung article and was a major annoyance. Samsung could do no wrong in this guys eyes and it was pretty funny.

What did he say when Note 7s started blowing up? (I do think Samsung phones are great devices and the best all-round, but sometimes they make stupid mistakes)
